Mid Year Reports for Parents

The student report process is complete. The preparation of these commenced over a month ago and teachers have used data from ongoing learning tasks and formal assessments to prepare reports. You have access to your child’s reports on Compass. Your child’s attendance has been recorded. The school aims for a 95% attendance rate for every child. In reality for the half year we hope that children have less than 5 days of non-attendance. Research proves that frequent absence has a negative impact on a child’s learning and social development.

Parent, Student & Teacher (PST) Conferences

PST conferences were conducted on Tuesday for all students. We appreciate parents demonstrating their partnership with the school, through attendance at these meetings.  The meetings provide an important link between what your child is learning and how well they are learning and planning for improvement.

Winter Inter-School Sport

The competition played against local schools is complete.  Children played Korfball, Soccer, Football, Netball and Bat tennis.  All children who participated had a wonderful opportunity to test their skills and learn valuable ball and team membership skills.  There were lots of wonderful achievements and efforts displayed by our children. Congratulations to Sarah van Nieukerk and the level 4 staff for their great organisation and efforts.

End of term

The end of term has arrived and I wish to thank our staff and school council for their efforts and energy to support our student body and programs.  We had a few teachers absent during the later part of the term with colds, but teams supported each other and we maintained consistency of teaching and learning.  Highlights have been the efforts of the PFA to support family fun events and build a strong base of parental support and communication with the parent body.  The mother’s day stall, walkathon, Open Day, disco and athletics carnival were successful. Interschool sport and camps and excursions have operated successfully and the NAPLAN assessment process was implemented smoothly. At all levels there has been a highly visible learning environment in teams and specialist programs. As we head into term three which commences on Monday 11 July. A highlight of the term will be our Student Leadership Conference at Edendale Farm.
