Reconciliation Week is held so that we can all celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal people; learn about their history of suffering through settlement and their resilient and courageous survival.
· May 26 is Sorry Day when Stolen Generations are remembered.
The Nillumbik Reconciliation Group and Nillumbik Shire Council met with our school captains and for an annual flag raising at the Shire Offices.
· A Wurundjeri Elder will give a Welcome to Country
· Brent Watkins will play didgeridoo and do Reconciliation Hip hop dances.
After raising the flags the guests were invited to morning tea in the Council Chamber.
