Reconciliation Event at Nillumbik Shire Council

Mayor of Nillumbik, Karen Egan, Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Ian Hunter, & our local state member of parliament Vicki Ward MP with ENPS students.

We were very excited that Ines raised the Aboriginal flag at the National Reconciliation Week event for Nillumbik Shire Council and Nillumbik Reconciliation Group. She appeared to be very proud and I trust she will continue to stand tall as a Kalkadoon girl & ENPS student. It's fabulous that we could take her to the event & share the moment with her. The event started at 9.45am with the flag raising ceremony and the Youth Leadership Workshop was held during the morning sessions.

Our ENPS school captains, Hannah, Aidan, Cameron & Claudia represented the school by speaking about what Reconciliation means to them. Eltham High School students performed music. Students listened to Uncle Ian Hunter during the Student Leadership Workshop & had the chance to talk with John Baxter who explained why we mark Reconciliation Week.
Nillumbik Council took photos/video of the event. Thanks to Natalie Duffy for her hard work in the background to organise our representation.
