School Community Camp

What a great weekend we all had. The campsite was buzzing with activity when we arrived on Friday evening.  There were children all over the place on bicycles and play equipment calling out to each other with excitement.  On Saturday I think every facility of the campsite was used.  Families fishing on the lake, playing tennis together, going for walks, golfing with their parents, swimming in a freezing cold pool and parents chatting away relaxing and enjoying the great weather.  The bicycles and scooters where very well used all day.

Art Mural in Prep area

The Giving Tree During term's three and four all prep students have been working to create a mosaic mural on the wall between the prep rm 3 and rm 4. This mural has been designed and created by the artist Melinda Wills with help from students across all year levels, mothers and grandmothers. The mosaic is of a tree called the giving tree. It is the giving tree as it provides shelter, gives a home to animals and birds, gives beautiful coloured leaves for all to enjoy, gives oxygen so we have fresh air. Through the mural the artist is hoping to create an environmental message of how important  it is to look after our trees and environment.

Footy Parade & Match

Footy Day: Yesterday the staff and the students came to school dressed in their favourite AFL team colours and paraded proudly and excitedly in their colourful teams in the Footy Day Parade.

After lunch the annual football match between the staff and students was played out and the students defeated staff by 2 points in the game of the century.Unfortunately many teachers pulled up stiff and bruised after this humiliating defeat.  The students revelled in their glory by forming a circle of honour singing a victory song which still echoes through the school today along with their wide smiles.  All children were asked to bring a gold coin donation and we raised $610.00 to be donated to the Royal District Nursing Service.
