Classroom Helpers Program in 2009.  The classroom helpers program is designed to support the valuable work of parents in the classroom. Being a classroom helper offers an opportunity for parents to be involved in the educational development of children with the support and direction of the teacher.  Each session considers the role of the classroom helper and how they may assist in a variety of classroom activities while the responsibility for teaching remains with the teacher.

The program runs over three weeks with a different focus for each session.

Session 1 focuses on how children learn.

Session 2 discusses the Pause, Prompt and Praise strategy that assists in children’s learning.

Session 3 involves more specific information regarding assisting with Literacy and Numeracy.

This program is a valuable resource for parents wishing to assist in their child’s classroom.
