Parent Bodies:  School Council and Project Teams

The School Council operates an active project team system in which dedicated staff and parents work together to benefit the school. You can become a valued member of a project team, with many added benefits:

· Meet some new and interesting people who also share a passion for community and education

· Provide an excellent role model for your child

· Learn about how the school operates from a new perspective

· Gain some new skills in a variety of areas

· Work in an encouraging team environment

There are positions available in the following project teams:

Education, Marketing, Facilities, Parents & Friends Association (PFA), Out of School Hours Care, Uniform and special interest groups. Through the School Council and its project teams, parents and othermembers of the school community play a significant role in thedecision-making process. The School Council usually meets at 7.00 p.m.  in the staffroom once a month. These are open meetings for any parentwho may wish to attend and observe. 

Councilors are free to attend other Project Teams before or after their group meets.  The School Council operates the following Portfolios with Project Teams who work on specific briefs or assignments:

SCHOOL COUNCIL PORTFOLIOS:

Public Relations: The Marketing Strategy comprises the following elements: Publications, developing and publishing school marketing documents, Kinder Links, maintaining ongoing and positive relationships with local kinders.

Parent & Friends Association

The role in PFA is to be a facilitator and communicator and to foster positive relationships at the classroom level between parents, staff and students.

RESOURCES ~ HUMAN RESOURCES ~   FINANCE ~ FACILITIES

Facilities: The role in Facilities is to develop and implement a strategy to maintain the school building and grounds in excellent condition.  In 2018 a focus was to install a large shade sail over the atrium zone in the junior school.

Uniform: The role in the Uniform Shop is to enhance and support the effectiveness of the operation.

OSHC Management: As a member of the OSHC program we maintain and service the needs of the Before and After School Care programs.

EDUCATION ~ REVIEW ~ CURRICULUM

In the Education team we assist to support the implementation of the School Strategic Plan 2010 - 2013 and implement the goals and targets defined in the strategy.  We monitor School Policies and continue to update them.
